Simply the best all-round treatment of Galloway and Carrick. Follow the good Reverend around as he tours the province by bicycle and delves into each nook and cranny, tells you interesting stories about pipers disappearing in caves and the machinations of the Kennedies. This book is full of juicy little morsels of history and speculation and is good fun to read. The memorial edition is a beautifully produced little hardback with a nifty fold-out map. It is this map the formed the basis for our own campaign map.
I should just note that although this book is now almost a century old, Galloway has changed relatively little during the intervening years and this book is still perfectly usable today.
