The Chronicle of Ken Muir
by John Climacus
This book was written c. AD 600 by John of Raithu, a monastery on the shores of the red sea. It describes, in 30 ‘rungs’, the steps to religious perfection from a monastic point of view. This book was in the possession of Brother Tancredus of Saint Lasar’s Kirk in Glen Ken. He probably obtained it in Constantinople.
